The stinging death of Bill Walton

Bill Walton passed at age 71. The nation truly wailed. It seemed than Americans knew more about Walton than Bill Russell. It’s because of his love for music. Yes the Dead.

Becoming a broadcaster was a shocking development. His famed college coach John Wooden at UCLA was protective of Walton. At the time, Bill was afraid of his own shadow. And despite the Lakers attraction and success, UCLA dominated through the mid 1970s.

Coach Wooden was completely committed to steering a youthful Bill Walton who was resisting . They developed  a lifetime basketball relationship Southern California. Think of course of Lew Alcindor, Bill Walton Sidney Wicks, Keith Wilkes and more.

Bill grew up in San Diego. He felt uncomfortable until he broke his shyness. Wooden eventually loosened him up. Not long after, he started by approaching people comfortably. These past seasons, he wanted to be the show.

Mike Breen needed a favor on behalf of his father from Walton. This was a good chunk of change ago. Mike told me, he will never forget it.

Charles Barkley has become the new Unofficial Voice of the NBA. He sounds himself and rarely does he leave a word behind. For decades, Chuck and Shaq debated. From the inexplicable days of provocation through the start television, key parts sprinkled.

Character differences continue in the studio. Kenny Smith shares the basic X’s and O’sErnie Johnson Jr. allows the network studio stars to run the booth actively with spirted polemics.

This said, Charles was assigned with Gayle King to a show on his behalf. It lasted some five months

Kevin Harlan is a  top play-by-player on the Turner edition of the NBA  He will be back next season for local pre-season football telecasts on Green Bay Packers TV. He’s been labeled  number three on CBS’ NFL. Jim Nantz and Ian Eagle are one and two. Harlan’s redolent of his Midwest accent. His dad, Bob Harlan help built the club beginning in 1971.
