NFL

The NFL? Want the weekend schedule for what’s on tap, beginning tonight, here you are!

The meatiest weekend in the pre-season was condensed a year ago by the league to just three games. In the 1960s before the merger of the AFL and NFL, the Giants, as an example played six exhibition games. Not all were televised locally. Only 14 were played in the regular season.

Al Michaels pushed hard, complaining last season that the Thursday night games were unattractive. There were a couple that Al called which you might say were incomprehensible. So he had to preside over a couple soporifics. With the bucks that Amazon pays, Michaels and his cohorts got sufficient attention and we’ll see how late season games change.

Here is this weekend’s schedule. One tonight
