COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Week #9 of College Football: #2 Ohio State at #13 Penn State at Noon on Fox; Complete schedule

Notes leading into detailed schedule:

  • Matt Barrie is a college football freak and hosts lots of studio programs for ESPN. He was born in Arizona and his love and passion for college football is evident. His voice is full of emotion and filled  with knowledge. Barrie began his career in Wausau, Wisconsin. At WJFW-TV, he was the station’s primary Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers reporter. His roots are at Arizona State’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, the same college that produced Al Michaels.
  • Roy Philpott has a command of his mic steadily. Not overbearing.
  • Nice to see Carter Blackburn on CBSN play-by-play schedule each weekend.
  • Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt get what is likely the best game of the weekend, Ohio State at Penn State.
  • Joe Tessitore will certainly bring drama to Notre Dame at Syracuse on ABC. He’s good. But sometimes he overdoes it.
  • Noah Eagle is a next generation broadcaster and nice fellow. He’s only 25. Noah is doing college games every weekend for Fox now. Good for him. He has Oklahoma at Iowa State on FS1 Saturday.
  • Brad Nessler, 66, and Gary Danielson, 71, have the game dubbed, the longest college football party in America, Florida-Georgia in Jacksonville. They’ve been tied at the hips for decades, including ESPN. The game will be on CBS.
